Student help

Students are invited to knuckle down in extra study space during the race to HSC and other certificate exams. The newly renovated Casino Library now has a designated area that can be used for quiet study times. Library is open Monday and Friday 10am-5.30pm and has coffee and wireless internet services.

Local school students within the Richmond Valley Council area, including Casino, Coraki, Evans Head and Kyogle townships, can now receive free tutoring help online at their public library or home, through an innovative new service called yourtutor.

Yourtutor is free for all Richmond Valley library members to use thanks to generous and supportive sponsorship from Southern Cross University.

English, Maths and Science subjects are included and the service is available 4pm-8pm, Monday to Friday from either library or home computers. Help is immediate, professional and secure and it’s free to library members. Students in Years 4-12, simply log on to the library’s website and click on the link yourtutor logo above to access the program.

Tutors are certified teachers, professional tutors, post graduates and advanced undergraduates from Australian universities. They can review specific homework and assignment questions with students online, using features like controlled chat, an interactive white board and shared web browsing.
