Official Casino Library Opening
The official opening of the renovations and extensions of the Casino Library was held earlier today, with a great turnout. Guests included: Dr. Alex Byrne (N.S.W. State Librarian), Frances Sims from the N.S.W. State Library, Shirley Wheatley (Deputy Mayor), Brian Wilkinson (Richmond Valley Council general manager), Lee Duncan from Janelle Saffin’s office, RUCRL staff and volunteers from the Casino Library. Short speeches were made by Gary Ellem, Shirley Wheatley, Lee Duncan and Dr. Alex Byrne. Lunch was provided after that for all guests. Thanks go to everyone who came for the event.
OFFICIAL OPENING OF CASINO LIBRARY
The official opening of the Casino Library will be held on Wednesday the 16th of October at 1pm. Members of the public, press and the NSW State Librarian will be in attendance as well as library staff and volunteers. All members of the public are welcome to attend. Front doors to Casino Library are now OPEN!
The front doors to Casino Library were finally opened to the Public on Friday 8th July, 2011.
Thank you to all borrowers and visiters to our Library for your patience and understanding while the front entrance was out of action.
We are looking forward to the new garden beds, landscaping and final touches before the grand opening.
Casino Renovations
It has been a busy two weeks at Casino Library, with the removal of all books and furniture from the public area into the staff workroom. The carpet was replaced during this time, and over the past week the process of moving all the shelves, furniture and books took place. This was an exhausting job, with many hours of overtime put in by staff. There is still work to be done however before the renovations are completed. Landscaping of the front area and an awning are yet to be done. Casino Library would also like to advise patrons that the public toilets are available once agin.
CASINO LIBRARY CLOSED FOR A WEEK!
Casino Library will be closed from Monday 6/6/11 through until Saturday 11/6/11. This is due to the recarpeting of the main area of the library. If you would like to renew your items before this date you can do so by visiting your library, through the library catalogue or by calling 6662 6160.
Kyogle, Evans Head and the Mobile Library will be closed Wednesday the 8th June due to a staff development day.- Kate.
Casino Library Renovations
The renovations at Casino Library are coming along quickly, with work started on the staff workroom and the old meeting room. We also have a ceiling again, which is very exciting! Currently painting and tiling work is being carried out. At this stage it looks like work will be completed on the library area by the end of June, with all the improvements due to be finished by the end of August. Please remember that we are still using the back entrance of the library and that we currently do not have any public toilets.
